We are looking for a Fundraising Coordinator who can help raise funds for Heemang Foundation so that Heemang Foundation can provide services to meet the needs of its beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling proposals, reports, budgets, and other grant materials for high net worth people, foundations, and corporate fundraising, including sponsorships that articulate the organization’s accomplishments and mission.
  • Implement fundraising activities:
    • Use ethical fundraising principles
    • Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising events specified in a fund development plan
    • Engage volunteers for special fund development projects using established volunteer management practices
  • Developing local/community fundraising and awareness events
  • Actively seek to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones
  • Approaching individuals, schools, universities, shops and commercial organisations for sponsorship and donations.
  • Network and develop strategies that drive fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed to advance the Foundation’s work.
  • Give us as much notice as possible should you be unable to attend or carry out your volunteer role with us anymore.
  • Work with other Heemang Foundation volunteers and Board of Directors as needed.

Good to have

  • Strong proficiency in English, as well as good written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess advanced skills in technology, communication, and problem solving
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous fundraising experience would be a bonus
  • Commitment to work in compliance with policies and procedures

Education and experience

  • Grade 12
  • Certification in Fundraising Management or other relevant Bachelor degree
  • Prior knowledge of how a not-for-profit operates
  • Experience with Not-for-profit grant writing and individual giving programs and managing government grants and contracts
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License will be considered an asset
